Never Rent From Your Cousin By Sylvia Evanson I rented an apartment from my cousin, and it seemed like a good idea at the time. I have been advised in the past not to do business with family and friends. Now I certainly know why!!! I was promised usage of the garage. My cousin's business closed and became filled up with office furniture, therefore, my new car stayed out in the rain and the snow. I was promised a washer and dryer. These items were never delivered to me. I had no hot water in my bathroom sink. That really wakes you up, I can tell you that! The people upstairs moved out, and illegal immigrants moved in. There were six adults and seven children in a three bedroom apartment above me! When I began to complain I got evicted. Never rent from your cousin! Maybe I should have relocated to Boulder Colorado!
